Phoenix Audio is a California-based manufacturer of high-end professional analog outboards, known for the sonic excellence of its all-Class A circuits, designed and manufactured to deliver absolute studio-level performance. Phoenix's philosophy is based on combining British technical heritage with American manufacturing precision, offering devices designed for sound engineers, producers, mix and mastering engineers who seek transparency, musicality and authentic analog character.
Founded in 1996 in the United Kingdom as a specialized service center on pre-1980 vintage Neve consoles, Phoenix Audio was born from the experience of Shaun Leveque-a former British Ministry of Defense electronics engineer and Neve repair expert-and David Rees, a historic Neve designer responsible for designing the famous 2253/2254 limiter/compressor. This technical background has enabled the company to develop proprietary circuits inspired by the Class-A tradition, but with a modern and innovative approach.
All Phoenix Audio products are handcrafted in California and feature quality components, clean layout, extended headroom, and a sound that combines analog warmth and crystal-clear detail. Since relocating its headquarters to Costa Mesa in 2009, Phoenix has strengthened its positioning as a boutique brand capable of competing with the best international high-end productions.
Phoenix Audio positions itself as the reference choice for those who wish to equip themselves with top-notch analog outboards, capable of significantly improving the quality of every production stage-from recording to mix-without sacrificing reliability or ease of use.
