The Universal Audio Apollo X8P Gen 2 AC Analog Classics is a 16 x 22 Thunderbolt audio interface designed for professional recording studios, music producers, sound engineers, and content creators who want to record multiple sources simultaneously while maintaining reference-quality sound. With eight Unison™ preamps, Apollo X Gen 2 conversion, and a built-in HEXA Core DSP processor, it offers everything you need to tackle professional productions with the classic Universal Audio sound.
This second generation introduces completely redesigned converters, new features such as Auto-Gain, Apollo Monitor Correction, and Bass Management, as well as even more accurate monitoring and advanced workflow management via the UAD Console app.
The Apollo X8P Gen 2’s standout feature is its eight Unison™ microphone preamps, which faithfully recreate the electrical and sonic characteristics of some of the most legendary preamps in recording history.
Using dedicated UAD plug-ins, you can record in real time through emulations of preamps and channel strips from Neve, API, Avalon, Manley, SSL, and numerous other iconic pieces of hardware, capturing the signature sound of major record label productions right during the tracking phase.
The new Apollo X Gen 2 platform further enhances audio performance thanks to completely redesigned A/D and D/A converters, an even wider dynamic range, and extremely low distortion levels.
Conversion up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, combined with the proprietary Dual-Crystal Clocking system, ensures precise, stable, and detailed reproduction, ideal for professional recording, mixing, and mastering.
The built-in HEXA Core DSP processor allows you to record and mix using Universal Audio plug-ins with virtually no latency. Compressors, equalizers, channel strips, reverbs, tape simulations, amplifiers, and dynamic processors can be used during recording while maintaining an extremely natural workflow.
The UAD platform also provides access to over 200 professional plug-ins developed by Universal Audio and leading brands in the audio industry, offering tools used daily in the world’s top recording studios.
The Apollo X8P Gen 2 introduces the Auto-Gain feature, designed to speed up the preparation of recording sessions. The system automatically adjusts the optimal preamp level across multiple inputs simultaneously, reducing setup time and minimizing the risk of clipping during recording.
The new Apollo Monitor Correction feature, developed in collaboration with Sonarworks®, allows you to precisely calibrate monitors and headphones for a more linear and reliable response in any work environment.
The built-in Bass Management feature, on the other hand, makes it easy to integrate a subwoofer into your monitoring system, improving control over low frequencies during mixing and mastering.
The Apollo X8P Gen 2 supports stereo and surround monitoring configurations up to 7.1, offering an ideal solution for music, audio post-production, sound design, and multimedia content. The built-in monitor controller also lets you manage alternate monitors, talkback, and different listening configurations directly from the interface.
The UAD Console app serves as the interface’s command center, allowing you to manage routing, cue mixes, Plug-In Scenes, ultra-low-latency monitoring, and all the new features introduced in the second-generation Apollo.
Integration with LUNA enables an even smoother workflow, while compatibility with Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton Live, and leading professional DAWs ensures maximum flexibility in any studio.
The Apollo X8P Gen 2 can be expanded by connecting up to four Apollo Thunderbolt interfaces, supporting up to 128 channels of professional-quality I/O. Integration with other Apollo rack and desktop models lets you build a fully customized system while maintaining centralized control over your entire studio.
The Analog Classics version includes a selection of professional UAD plug-ins for recording, mixing, mastering, and music production.
