Vongon Paragraphs II is the evolution of the California brand's well-known four-pole resonant low-pass filter, now with stereo input and output connections. Based on the same ladder filter found in the REPLAY synthesizer, it offers rich, musical harmonic modeling perfect for enhancing fuzzy, distorted or cleaner signals such as guitar, bass and electric piano.
With its bipolar envelope, Paragraphs II can open or close the filter in response to the intensity of your playing. Stereo inputs are processed separately, creating a detailed, three-dimensional stereo field. Adjustable rise and fall times from 5 ms to 4 seconds allow you to range from percussive accents to slow, expressive transitions.
In follower mode, the filter follows or reverses the dynamics of the sound to achieve effects such as auto-wah or ducking. Trigger mode activates a one-shot envelope once a defined threshold is exceeded, perfect for punchy attacks or initial fades. Finally, cycle mode introduces a pulsing rhythmic modulation, perfect for creating movement.
The LFO oscillator operates 180° out of phase between the left and right channels for natural widening effects. You can choose between sine or random smoothed waves, with frequencies from 0.1Hz to 100Hz. The filter can be modulated via CV input (also in audio rate), and every parameter is controllable via MIDI, with 9 presets that can be recalled directly from the pedal.
Each unit is carved from a single block of walnut, CNC-machined and hand-finished. The power supply is compatible with standard 9V center-negative power supplies, and inputs can be optimized for line or instrumental signals.
