Remote controller for the Bricasti hardware reverb unit
The Bricasti M10 Remote Console is the remote controller designed by Bricasti Design to manage the M7 and M7M hardware reverbs. From a single control surface, you can control up to eight units, recalling and adjusting the reverbs directly from your listening position, while the processors remain in the control room or machine room rack. The interface is the same as the M7’s: if you’re already familiar with the processor, you’ll be up and running from the very first minute.
In many studios, the M7 doesn’t work alone: one unit for vocals, one for drums, and others for instruments and ambience. With the M10 Remote Console, you can manage 1 to 8 M7 or M7M units from a single controller, keeping your focus on the mixer and mixing decisions instead of constantly moving over to the rack.
Switching between units is done using the dedicated Machine button, with a logic that adapts to the size of your setup:
Eight level meters simultaneously display the signal from four stereo pairs—that is, four M7s at a time. You can monitor the levels of all active reverbs without having to switch between units, a real advantage during mixing and in sessions with multiple units in use.
The M10 connects to the first M7 via a 9-pin RS-422 serial cable. The 10-meter cable is included, and the connection can extend up to 30 meters—no IP addresses or network configurations required: just plug it in and it works. For longer distances, an additional power supply for the M10 may be required.
To add more M7s, simply use a serial loop-through connection: connect the controller to the first unit, then connect from there to the second, third, and so on. A linear chain that’s easy to wire, even as your setup grows over time.
DC power is supplied from the M7 via the same serial cable. No wall-mounted power supplies or external power sources: one less cable behind your desk and a cleaner installation.
The M10 features the same clear, easy-to-read display as the M7 and the same user interface, plus Machine and Setup buttons. You don’t have to learn anything new: the parameters are right where you’d expect them to be. The Setup button gives you access to the M10’s local memory, configuration, and controller settings.
You can control the M7 from both its front panel and the M10, even simultaneously. The lockout function allows you to lock one of the two control points, preventing accidental changes when multiple people are working in the same control room.
The case and buttons are made of custom-machined solid aluminum, carefully finished and anodized. A construction designed to stand the test of time, with the same classic look that has made the M7 a recognizable fixture on professional studio desks.
Bricasti Design was founded in the United States by Brian Zolner and Casey Dowdell, both former Lexicon employees—a company that has made history in digital reverb. The brand quickly gained recognition among professionals through word of mouth at industry trade shows, and at the 2007 Musikmesse in Frankfurt, the M7 was hailed as one of the event’s most significant highlights. With next-generation algorithms and an intuitive interface, the M7 has become an industry standard for hall and room simulations in recording, mixing, and mastering studios, and the M10 was created to bring out the best in it.
