The PULSAR-23 is an "organismic" drum machine designed by Vlad Kreimer that goes far beyond creating simple beats. With a semi-modular structure and 23 independent modules, this instrument allows you to explore percussion and rhythm synthesis, create bass lines, melodies, sound effects and complex soundscapes. You can use it in standalone mode, with MIDI or CV control, or any combination of these. The PULSAR-23 opens new sonic and creative frontiers.
The Pulsar-23 is distinguished by a design that encourages experimentation. In addition to the four analog drum channels (Bass Drum, Bass, Snare Drum, Cymbals), each channel has an envelope generator that can generate sustain, allowing you to transform percussive sounds into drones and noise synthesizers. The four independent loop recorders record trigger events, not audio, giving you precise control over rhythmic patterns.
The Pulsar-23's connectivity is extremely versatile. The clock generator includes a number of dividers that make it a powerful tool for rhythm synthesis. The "Shaos," a unique pseudo-random generator, and the FX processor with CV control add additional layers of complexity and modulation possibilities. With the ability to use body conductivity to create patches and modulations, the PULSAR-23 invites you to real "ciruit bending" in real time.
