The eight Unison™ microphone preamps let you record in real time with the sonic characteristics of iconic preamps and channel strips. With compatible UAD plug-ins, you can achieve tones inspired by hardware from Neve, API, Avalon, Manley, SSL, and other studio classics, bringing a modern and flexible analog workflow to your rack.
Apollo X Gen 2 conversion delivers extremely detailed reproduction, with resolution up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, a wide dynamic range, and very low distortion. This allows you to record, mix, and playback audio with precision, maintaining a faithful representation of the sources.
The Dual-Crystal Clocking system ensures ultra-low jitter at all sample rates, improving stability, clarity, and sonic consistency at every stage of production.
The built-in HEXA Core DSP processor allows you to use UAD plug-ins during recording and mixing with extremely low latency. Compressors, equalizers, channel strips, reverbs, delays, tape machines, amplifiers, and dynamic processors can be loaded directly into the Apollo workflow without placing an exclusive burden on the computer’s CPU.
The included UAD Analog Classics Pro bundle significantly expands the software suite, offering over 80 professional plug-ins selected from vocal processing, pitch correction, preamps, compressors, EQs, reverbs, delays, virtual instruments, mastering tools, guitar and bass effects, and LUNA extensions.
The Auto-Gain feature allows you to automatically set the optimal preamp level across multiple inputs in just a few seconds. It’s particularly useful during sessions with many sources, such as drums, live bands, acoustic ensembles, or multiple vocal recordings.
Auto-Gain reduces setup time and helps prevent unwanted clipping, allowing you to focus more on your performance and less on the technical preparation of the session.
Apollo Monitor Correction, powered by Sonarworks®, lets you calibrate your main monitor outputs and headphones for a more reliable and consistent listening experience. This feature helps you make more precise decisions during recording, mixing, and mastering, even in environments that aren’t perfectly treated.
Calibrating your listening system helps minimize surprises when your mix is played back on other monitors, headphones, consumer systems, or professional setups.
The Apollo X8P Gen 2 supports monitoring configurations up to 7.1 surround sound, making it suitable for post-production, sound design, multichannel mixing, and audiovisual content. The built-in Bass Management allows you to add and control a subwoofer in your listening system, improving low-frequency response.
