Wideband mode is perfect for global interventions on the signal, while Multiband divides the audio into four bands with independent parameters, allowing you to treat kick drum hits differently than plucked strings or snare drum, for example.

You can decide how much a sound should stand out in the mix by acting on gain and release time of transients. Great for making an electric bass more aggressive, giving "snap" to an acoustic guitar, or making drums more compact.
