PMC Speakers monitors represent one of the most respected reference tools in the world of professional audio. Used throughout the production chain-from composing to mixing, through mastering and broadcasting-they guarantee extremely detailed and transparent listening. Their precision allows sound professionals to work faster and with confidence, confident that every mix will sound perfect on any playback system.
PMC was founded in 1991 by Peter Thomas, a former BBC engineer, and Adrian Loader of FWO Bauch. The combination of top-notch technical know-how and a deep passion for music resulted in the brand's first product: the BB5-A active monitor. Since then, this model has become an icon and a worldwide reference, chosen by the likes of BBC Maida Vale, Metropolis Mastering, Stevie Wonder's Wonderland Studio, and classic labels such as Decca and Harmonia Mundi.
Not only recording and mastering studios: PMC is the choice of some of the most important contemporary composers for film and television soundtracks. Henry Jackman, Thomas Newman, Tyler Bates, and John Debney are just a few of the names who have created their own works with the help of PMC monitors. Their productions range from such colossals as Titanic, Mission Impossible, Skyfall, Iron Man and Pearl Harbor to iconic series such as Game of Thrones.
As a testament to its contribution to excellence in audio production, PMC is among the very few companies in the world to have received an Emmy® Award. PMC monitors are now found in the most important mastering centers, post-production studios and international broadcasters, confirming them as a standard in the industry.
Each PMC speaker is designed and hand-assembled in the UK, with carefully selected components to ensure performance identical to the reference model. From cabinet construction to the testing of individual elements, everything is subjected to rigorous controls, both objective and subjective.
Each monitor is tested with frequency response sweeps for linearity and accuracy. This is supplemented by listening tests with reference materials: from BBC vocal tests to classical, pop and rock music. A process that combines technology and human sensitivity, because no software can replace expert listening.
The brand philosophy is simple but powerful: a good monitor should faithfully reproduce the artist's intention, without coloration or compromise.
