SoftPOP SP2: radical synthesis between chaos and digital control

SoftPOP SP2 is a compact semimodular synthesizer born from the collaboration between Bastl Instruments and Casper Electronics. The unit combines a modular analog core with an advanced digital brain, capable of generating sounds ranging from clean melodies to noise textures. This used version is fully functional and ready for creative use in the studio or live.

Powerful sequencer with customizable patterns, scales and FX

The built-in sequencer allows creation of 8-step patterns with concatenation capabilities, quantization to user-defined scales, and eight different playback modes. Also includes temporary or cyclic FX performance for effects such as ratcheting, arpeggios, noise and more. Pitch can be modulated live via dedicated faders.

MIDI quantization and control

SoftPOP SP2 can be played via MIDI and features a customizable 8-scale quantizer that can also be programmed via MIDI signals. Digital VCO ensures stable pitch over the entire range.

Audio processing and 37-point patchbay

SP2 is also a powerful audio processor. Connect an external source to radically transform it with resonant filter, VCA and overdrive. The envelope follower and sample & hold add dynamic and unpredictable modulation possibilities.

Advanced audio effects and modulations

Ability to create auto-wah, random filters, MIDI-synchronized ring modulation, resonant distortion and more. 37-point patchbay allows creative and complex eurorack-style routing.

Firmware v1.3: step editing, advanced MIDI, improved stability

With the v1.3 update, SoftPOP SP2 introduces new features such as direct gate recording, pitch preview during editing, and smoother workflow. It also includes improvements in external clock and MIDI handling.
