The Barefoot Sound Footprint FP-03 Linear White are 3-way active studio monitors designed to deliver precision, clarity, and reliability in a compact form factor. This version combines the features of the Footprint series with an elegant Linear White satin finish, suitable for professional studios and modern production environments. The tri-amplified system delivers a total of 260 W per monitor and combines a 1" ring radiator tweeter, a 3.5" midrange driver, and a 6.5" front-firing woofer. The specified frequency response ranges from 45 Hz to 40 kHz ±3 dB, allowing the Footprint FP-03 to serve as a reference for mixing, mastering, recording, post-production, and critical listening.
The Footprint FP-03 Linear White features a fast-transient bass-reflex design developed to achieve low-frequency extension down to 45 Hz. The cabinet is constructed from high-density MDF with a premium satin white polyester resin finish and employs under-stress assembly techniques designed to increase stability and damping. The solid aluminum front panel and polyurethane acoustic damping complete the cabinet’s structure. Weighing 7.9 kg per monitor, the construction is designed to minimize unwanted resonances and vibrations during monitoring.
The 3-way system incorporates drivers designed to accurately cover the various areas of the audio spectrum. The 1" ring radiator tweeter uses a neodymium motor with copper shorting rings, designed to reduce distortion and maintain accurate high-frequency reproduction up to 40 kHz.
The 3.5" aluminum-cone midrange driver offers a linear excursion of ±3.5 mm and is dedicated to the precise reproduction of the midrange. The 6.5" front woofer, also featuring an aluminum cone, achieves a excursion of ±9.5 mm and is designed to deliver a controlled and well-defined low-frequency response. The drivers’ thermal management is also engineered to ensure reliable performance even during extended work sessions.
The proprietary SPOC™ (Spectrally Optimized Conversion) technology intervenes in the analog-to-digital conversion process. According to the provided specifications, it offers 5 bits of additional resolution and a 15 dB improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio, with the goal of preserving signal transparency during monitoring.
Barefoot’s MEME™ technology allows you to use different monitoring profiles through the same pair of speakers, including references inspired by mix cubes, classic white-cone monitors, and consumer hi-fi systems. This capability allows you to evaluate the mix’s behavior from different listening perspectives without needing multiple pairs of monitors. The integrated DSP platform operates with a specified latency of 3 ms.
