The Cranborne Audio Brick Lane MC4 is a 4-channel, 2U rack-mountable analog modal compressor that integrates unique Modal PWM Compression technology into an advanced, digitally controllable format perfect for tracking, mixing and mastering. Combining compression, gating and multiband harmonic saturation in a single unit, it represents a new standard for analog dynamic processing.

Multiple compression modes and PWM architecture

Each channel features six unique compression modes: VELVET, FLOAT, SMASH, TAME, GLUE, and POLISH, each with a distinct dynamic behavior and sound signature. Using Modal PWM technology, the Brick Lane MC4 allows deep control of attack, release, and harmonic saturation curves via the "Stress" control.

ENIGMA: advanced compression control

The ENIGMA module provides access to advanced parameters normally fixed in analog compressors, such as knee softness, detector behavior, high frequency emphasis, and more. All this is handled while maintaining a 100% analog signal path.

Advanced routing for every professional need

Brick Lane MC4 supports Mono, Stereo, Mid/Side, Series, Dual-Band and De-Esser modes. In Series mode, two channels can be concatenated for smooth and controlled multistage compression. In Dual-Band mode, the signal is split into high and low bands for precise and natural analog multiband compression.

Hardware inserts and flexible sidechain

Each channel has dedicated, bypassable TRS insert points that can be placed within the processing chain. An advanced internal/external sidechain system with dedicated inputs is also available, allowing complex configurations for ducking, keying and targeted Mid/Side processing.

Digital control and intuitive interface

Although the signal path is entirely analog, the control is digital: the MC4 features a 5" TFT screen, digital encoders, LED ring, and USB/network port for remote control and recall via DAW plugins. Every setting can also be recalled and displayed on the front panel.
