TheIntellijel MEMS Mic 3U is an ultra-compact Eurorack module that adds a microphone directly into your patch. In just 2HP it allows you to transform vocals, instruments, field recordings, and ambient sounds into modular signal, opening the door to hybrid patching, live performance, and feedback experiments.

What is a MEMS microphone and why it sounds good in Eurorack

MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) microphones are micromechanical capsules mounted on a PCB and protected by a cover. They are very common in modern devices (smartphones, tablets, cameras), but in music they shine for their extended and very flat response, useful for capturing details and transients clearly and controllably within a patch.

Level control with sliders and CV, plus anti-overload LEDs

You can adjust the output level with the slider or modulate it via CV. When you use CV, the slider becomes an attenuator so you can precisely control the depth of modulation. Green (activity) and red (overload) LEDs help you set gain quickly and avoid unwanted clipping.

Fixed high-pass at 180 Hz for a cleaner signal

The module includes a fixed low roll-off (effectively a high-pass filter) at 180 Hz with a 6 dB/octave slope. It is useful for reducing rumble, handling noise and "plosives" when recording vocals or close sounds.
