The used Intellijel Shapeshifter is one of the most advanced digital oscillator modules ever created for the Eurorack format. Born from a collaboration between Intellijel and Cylonix, it combines wavetable synthesis, advanced FM, vocoding, chord generation, and timbre manipulation into a single, extremely powerful module. Thanks to its dedicated FPGA architecture, it offers a depth of programming and a variety of sounds capable of supporting years of musical experimentation.

Eurorack wavetable oscillator with 1,024 waveforms

At the heart of the Shapeshifter are two independent digital oscillators that can access 128 wavetable banks containing a total of 1,024 waveforms. Wavetable selection and scanning are fully controllable via CV, with smooth interpolation between different waveforms to generate constantly evolving sound textures.

Through-Zero FM and Advanced Digital Synthesis

The Shapeshifter features one of the most sophisticated implementations of Through-Zero FM available in Eurorack format. Its audio-rate frequency and phase modulation capabilities allow for the creation of extremely complex timbres, ranging from metallic bells to aggressive basses to experimental and abstract sounds.

High-Resolution FM for Extreme Sound Design

Thanks to internal modulation processing up to 98 kHz, the module guarantees exceptional precision even in the most extreme FM applications, maintaining stability and sonic definition.

Chord Mode with 8-voice chords

Chord mode transforms the first oscillator into a polyphonic generator consisting of eight simultaneous oscillators. With 64 selectable chords and detune control, you can create massive pads, complex harmonic textures, and cinematic sounds right within the modular system.

64-Band Vocoder and Analog Wavefolder

Among the Shapeshifter’s most unique features are a powerful built-in 64-band vocoder and a dedicated analog wavefolder. This combination allows you to blend the precision of digital synthesis with the organic, harmonically rich response of analog circuitry.

Preset Morphing and Sequencing for Advanced Performances

The Shapeshifter can store up to 100 presets that can be recalled in real time. Presets can be sequenced, recalled randomly, or progressively transformed via morphing, offering extremely advanced performance and compositional possibilities.
