The Waves SSL E-Channel recreates the legendary SSL 4000E console channel strip that has become a standard for punchy, detailed mixes. This emulation includes the famous "Black Knob" EQ, the original dynamic behavior, and creative dynamics routing, just as in the hardware console.

SSL equalization: bright and punchy

The 4-band EQ section includes two shelving and two parametric, with the characteristic response that has defined the sound of countless pop and rock productions. Choose gentle curves or surgical interventions to sculpt your sound with precision.

Refined dynamics for professional mixes

The dynamics section features soft-knee compressor/limiter and a separate expander/gate. You can place processing before or after the EQ to creatively shape dynamic response. Automatic make-up gain ensures effortless consistent levels.

Advanced and flexible sidechain

The channel strip includes sidechain routing that allows you to use filters or EQ in the control chain for even more precise control of dynamic behavior, ideal for modern mixing and advanced techniques.

Professional presets for every source

The library of over 130 presets is signed by world-renowned mix engineers and producers such as Chris Lord-Alge, Steve Lillywhite, Dave Pensado, Joe Barresi and many others, covering vocals, drums, guitars, keyboards and more.
