DVINA Dark Red is the first electroacoustic instrument developed by SOMA Laboratory, designed to combine acoustic tradition, timbral research and electronic experimentation. Inspired by the classical instruments of India and Persia, DVINA offers a unique approach to performance, ideal for experimental musicians, sound designers and electronic performers.

The Dark Red finish gives the instrument a deep and distinctive aesthetic, enhancing the essential design and solid wood construction. The result is an instrument with a strong visual and sonic impact, designed for creative setups, live performances, and unconventional sound productions.

Direct magnetic transduction and crystal clear sound

The heart of the SOMA DVINA Dark Red is its electromagnetic transduction system. Strings vibrate within a magnetic field generated by a neodymium magnet placed in the neck, directly producing an electrical signal without the use of conventional pickups.

Clean signal for effects, amplifiers and audio interfaces

The weak signal generated by the strings is amplified by a custom transformer built into the body of the instrument, using a principle similar to that of a ribbon microphone. This system ensures an extremely clean, dynamic and quiet sound, ready to be processed with effects pedals, amplifiers, mixers or professional audio interfaces.

Minimalist design in Dark Red finish

DVINA Dark Red is constructed from a single piece of solid wood, available in woods such as ash, beech or oak. The Dark Red finish enhances the natural character of the instrument and adds a warm, elegant and recognizable stage presence.

DVINA Dark Red is available in both the Serial version, produced in small limited batches, and the Custom version made to order. The Serial version comes with a semi-rigid case, while the Custom allows for custom configurations, including left-handed variants, exclusive colors and dedicated carrying accessories.
