Designed as an open-structure voltage control generator, the Verbos Voltage Multistage 16 is an evolution of the celebrated Voltage Multistage of 2014. In addition to offering 16 stages, this module includes trigger inputs on each step, advanced slide, gate and analog addressing capabilities, while retaining all the distinctive features of the original.
The clock is voltage controllable, allowing the module to be used as:
Compared with the original version, Voltage Multistage 16 adopts a core based on discrete transistor stages instead of CMOS counters. This allows external gate inputs to be activated for each stage, creating multiple loops, step jumps and complex dynamic sequences.
When the strobe is active and a variable analog signal controls the address, a gate is generated for each new step selected. This opens the way for unquantized, non-grid-bound note generations, ideal for experimental performances.
With its 42HP and slim design, the module fits even in compact cases such as the Black Box. Outputs are now equipped with LEDs, improving signal visibility in live or studio environments. All the functions of the original are still present and enhanced, providing maximum flexibility in patching and interaction between gate out, sustain, strobe, and stage switches.
