Desktop Synth with Interchangeable Open-Source Sound Engines
Synthux Academy Touch II is an innovative desktop synthesizer designed around tactile interaction and maximum sonic flexibility. Thanks to its open-source audio engines, which can be loaded via USB, Touch II can transform into completely different instruments: a polyphonic synthesizer, bass synth, effects processor, stereo looper, drum machine, or experimental platform for sound design. A single piece of hardware that continuously evolves thanks to the Synthux community and user-developed firmware.
One of Touch II’s strengths is the ability to easily install new instruments by loading dedicated firmware via USB. The Synthux Academy community is constantly developing new sound engines, allowing you to expand the instrument’s capabilities without any hardware modifications.
Each firmware update completely transforms the user experience, offering new features, new controls, and new creative approaches to synthesis and sound manipulation.
Designed to be played with your hands, Touch II offers direct and intuitive interaction thanks to its integrated touch surface, physical controls, and performance-optimized interface. From aggressive bass lines to ambient textures, through delays, reverbs, and creative distortions, every parameter is immediately accessible.
Touch II includes interchangeable faceplates dedicated to the various available sound engines, such as Touch Bass, Touch String, and Touch FX. There is also a customizable neutral panel that allows you to design your own graphical interface and adapt the instrument to self-developed firmware.
Multiple Touch II units can be used simultaneously to create compact and powerful DAW-less setups, ideal for live performances, electronic improvisation, and standalone productions.
Based on the Daisy Seed platform, Touch II offers 96 kHz / 24-bit audio conversion and high performance thanks to the ARM Cortex-M7 processor operating at 480 MHz. The 64 MB of SDRAM allows for the management of very large audio buffers, making it possible to implement long loops, complex effects, and sophisticated synthesis algorithms.
In addition to being a complete musical instrument, Touch II is one of the most accessible development platforms for Daisy Seed. Integrated touch sensors, stereo inputs and outputs, faders, potentiometers, and switches provide developers with everything they need to create new digital instruments and experiment with embedded audio synthesis.
