Doepfer established the Eurorack format with the A-100 system in 1995 and continues to produce essential modules for every modular synthesizer.

Without Doepfer, the Eurorack format as we know it today would probably not exist. In 1995, Dieter Doepfer introduced the A-100 modular system, based on 3U modules, widths measured in HP, ±12 V power rails and 3.5 mm mini-jack connections. This standard was later adopted by hundreds of manufacturers and became the dominant format in modular synthesis. Doepfer still produces essential, reliable and accessible modules that provide an exceptionally solid foundation for any Eurorack system. Doepfer modules do not rely on elaborate graphics or eccentric interfaces: they prioritise clarity, reliability, proven circuit design and construction intended to last for years.

The oscillator lies at the heart of many modular systems. The A-110-1 is the standard VCO in the range: a stable and versatile analogue oscillator covering approximately eight octaves, with four simultaneously available waveforms, a 1 V/Oct input and Hard Sync. The A-110-4 is an analogue Quadrature Thru-Zero VCO built around a sine-wave core, with Sine and Cosine outputs and separate sections for linear and exponential frequency modulation.

For deep frequency modulation and complex timbres, the A-110-4 provides Linear Thru-Zero FM and exceptionally pure quadrature signals. For filtering, the A-120 is Doepfer's classic 24 dB/octave low-pass filter with a Moog-style transistor ladder, valued for its musical character, straightforward operation and accessible price. The A-103 is an 18 dB/octave low-pass filter inspired by the TB-303 transistor-ladder circuit.

For signal generation and processing, the A-114 is a compact and direct Dual Ring Modulator containing two independent ring modulators. The A-118 is an analogue noise and random-voltage generator with white noise, adjustable coloured noise and Random Voltage, making it an essential resource for modulation, percussion and sound design. The A-101-2 Low-Pass Gate combines Low Pass Gate and VCA functions through a vactrol-based circuit, ideal for producing natural transients and the organic response associated with West Coast Synthesis. For cases, the A-100 LC6 with PSU3 and A-100 LC9 with PSU3 are 6U and 9U Low Cost Case solutions for medium-sized Eurorack systems. The A-100 P6 2x84HP is a portable 6U case with two 84 HP rows, while the Monster Base 2x168HP provides two 168 HP rows in a format designed for large modular systems.

Milk Audio Store is an authorised Doepfer dealer in Italy and offers a wide selection of A-100 modules, cases and accessories.
